Today I thought I'd discuss charitable giving for your wedding. I've heard of some intense to small-yet-thoughtful ways that brides and grooms have contributed to the general world goodness. There was that one bride and groom who decided to have a "work day" instead of general pre-wedding parties. So instead of a round of golf or a clam bake the day before, all of the guests, including the bride and groom, donated time working for a charity. Talk about impact!
Charlie Sheen and his wife went for a less intense but still seldom seen act of goodness- they asked all the guests to make a donation to Chrysalis instead of bringing gifts. This is a great way to raise funds for your favorite charity, especially if your home is already furnished.
An even more simple way to help is to register with the I Do Foundation which helps you to find companies that have a policy of giving back to register through. There are many wedding companies out there (even my own Smitten Invitations does) which gives parts of the proceeds to charities. (We give 10% of every order to help women and children) and that's something you can feel good about.
There are so many great options out there to help others through your wedding! And imagine, your dream coming true can help other's dreams come true too! Image courtesy of Bloom Photography

I heart I Do Foundation!
We are asking our guests to make donations to a children's charity that is close to our hearts. We've been living together for 2 years so we already have the things that would normally be found on a registry. Giving back to an organization that was very helpful to us seemed more fitting. Great to see this post!
