Meet Victoria, the bride-to-be-blogger of Victoria With Roses who helped us spread the word about the DK Designs Giveaway. Though her blog is somewhat new, she's blogged away at a breathtaking pace, with fun details and insights into weddings. Because she is a bride-to-be, I find this gives her a unique insight to wedding blogging. Here are her responses to my questions.
Q: What is your day job?
A: I am a graduate student at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where I also teach Undergraduate literature and creative writing. I am planning a wedding for August 2009 in New York City, when I will officially become a Navy wife! I spend a lot of time missing my fiance, who is stationed in Meridian, MS at the moment. But wedding planning keeps me busy. We are having a vintage-inspired wedding at the Church of Heavenly Rest in Manhattan, followed by a reception at The Harvard Club of New York. I LOVE the little details that make weddings personal. We're trying to incorporate both our passions, so we're including things like old typewriters and vintage biplanes--oh, and roses! Lots and lots of yellow roses.
Q: What can a reader expect when they visit your blog?
A: I love posting about small unique details! It's the little things, I think, that make a wedding gorgeous and personal, no matter what the budget. One of my favorite things to write about is vintage-inspired ideas. I love vintage papers, vintage dresses, and vintage patterns. Classic, with a twist.
Q: Do you have a favorite image or inspiration board to share with us?
A: I had a lot of fun with my yellow stripes inspiration board (shown above). But some of my favorite little details are: in Cotton bouquets, Vintage Map Save the Dates, and White Hot Chocolate at a winter wedding.
Thanks again Victoria for stopping by to say hello and a continued good luck with your wedding planning!
